4-band EQ, 'Brown' or 'Black' series switch - New brushed look The new E Series EQ module reproduces the legendary sound of a classic from the 80s, the channel strip of the SSL 4000 E console, which we have all enjoyed in countless record hits. It contains two different EQs that were found on versions of the console produced between 1979 and 1987. Each EQ has unique response curves and tonal characteristics. They are distinguished from the colors used on the low frequency LF potentiometer and therefore the two timbres have become known as the “Brown” and “Black” EQ, and both of these sound “pastes” are selectable on the E Series EQ module. The E Series EQ module therefore also provides you with the “Brown” EQ of the SSL E-Signature Channel Strip now discontinued.
