Power supply for System 500 with 10 slots The Lunchbox 500 series project was originally developed and used by API (Automated Processes Inc) to provide the use of modular microphone preamplifiers, compressors and equalizers. API units have been popular for many years as a proprietary format, but over the last few years, many companies have started to build modules compatible with the 500 series API specifications. The Lunchbox of the IGS Audio Panzer 500, built by hand with absolute quality materials, is a 10-slot rack capable of accommodating outboards in 5.25” x1.5” format compatible with the API 500 series and equipped with an external power supply capable of delivering 420mA per slot. With the 500 series modules, you can have a wide variety of sounds as if you had a console for tracking or “mixed” mixing. In this way, you are not tied to having tot pre or eq or comp of the same brand. The Lunchbox Panzer 500 has in the back panel all the I/O connections for each slot/module in XLR format. Thanks to the jumpers supplied with the package, you can easily link the adjacent modules. The first strong point is that the units are small and easy to install and remove. This allows you to configure your rack on-the-go. You can always carry your favorite outboard with you: in the space of 3 rack units you can have processors that would normally occupy 16 units.
