The Iconic Five
TR-808
Released in 1980, the TR-808 is one of the most popular and sought after electronic musical instruments of all time, and its influence continues to grow. Although it dominated the dawn of rap and hip-hop sound, new musical genres make intensive use of the 808 sound with its unmistakable characteristics. The effect of 808 on music is so profound that it is mentioned in famous tracks, with entire albums that have been dedicated to it, bands that have adopted its name, and it is even the protagonist of an entire documentary.
TR-606
TR-606 Software Rhythm Composer is a detailed replica of the 1981 TR-606 Drumatix: an underground classic from the famous TR rhythm machine family. The medium-bodied speakers, together with the iconic toms and hi-hats, were a great success among DIY musicians and are present in different genres: from new wave to punk in the 80s, to electronic music. Today's musicians continue to research the TR-606 for its alternative approach to the Roland TR sound.
TR-909
Introduced in 1983, the influence of the TR-909 drum machine is still alive almost forty years after its launch. Much like the TR-808, dominant in rap and hip-hop, TR-909 has left an indelible mark on electronic music styles such as techno, house, acid and industrial. From the “tunz tunz” of the case to the powerful hi-hats, to the snappy crescent rollers that create maximum tension: this is the sound you hear in your head when you think of the most irresistible dance music.
TR-707
The now famous TR-707 Rhythm Composer was introduced in 1985. Taking its rightful place alongside other classic Roland drum machines, this once underrated instrument appears on successful tracks in a long list of genres, including synth-pop, acid house, industrial, electro, indie, alternative and many others. Inspired by “aftermarket” modifications, the plug-in's extensively updated sound editing options allow you to adjust tuning, decay, attack, snappy, gain, sample rate and more.
Roland's TR-727 introduced the TR-727 Rhythm Composer together with the TR-707 in 1985. Less known but no less appreciated, this instrument dedicated to Latin American percussion has been used over the decades in a wide range of styles: from tribal to acid house, from pop to techno. It is also perfect for Afrobeat, Reggaeton and for more exotic contemporary styles. This software replica perfectly maintains that vintage atmosphere, expanding it through intonation, decay and other configurations that enrich its creative possibilities
