A Party In Perfect Style 1979
In the late '70s, synthesizers were going through a significant transition with the development of polyphony and internal memory for patches. While synth manufacturers around the world competed in the development of these new technologies, Roland launched an apparently simple monophonic synthesizer
: the now classic SH-2.Unbeatable Bass
Launched almost at the same time as the pioneering Roland JUPITER-4, the functionality of the SH-2 seemed very small by comparison. But its configuration with two VCOs and a sub-oscillator offered essentially three VCOs, making it capable of producing extremely full-bodied and warm analog tones. Today, many synth fans believe that it generates the most powerful synthetic bass of all time
.Use Your SH-2 The SH-2
software is based on Roland's in-depth knowledge of the original units to faithfully capture even the smallest detail, right down to the interaction between individual circuits. Every aspect has been reproduced exactly, from the VCF capable of self-oscillating to the attack and decay characteristics of the steep envelope. The original harmonic structure and pitch oscillation are present, and these are behaviors that occur only in analog circuitry, such as the delicate effects on the tone when parameters that are not directly related to the sound itself are adjusted. There are also some new features not available in the original:
- The extension of the VCO is expandable to 64' for very deep bass
- Two ADSR envelopes
- Modern effects: reverb, delay synchronizable to the time and bit-crusher Auto-bend with the support of reverse actions Time-synchronizable
- Arpeggiator Hardware Integration SH-2 also supports the PLUG-OUT format that extends its operation with
the Roland SYSTEM-8 hardware
synth or the
smaller SYSTEM-1. Bidirectional transfer of sounds between hardware and software, and PLUG-OUT directly into the hardware synth to create an independent SH-2 unit that follows you everywhere without the need for a computer. You can also use the hardware knobs and sliders for direct control when the plug-in is hosted in your
DAW.
