Overdrive guitar pedal The Royal Blue Overdrive offers a wide range of tones, from mild overdrive to great distortion, and at a minimum the Distortion knob setting works like an equalizer. It can also be used to create a “dynamic” effect similar to a tube amplifier. There's not much filtering on the overdrive, so you have a transparent sound that you can customize with the Treble and Bass controls. Like the best boutique amplifiers, the Royal Blue OD allows you to determine the amount of saturation based on how hard you hit the strings and/or by adjusting the volume knob on your guitar.
