Harmonic EQ 500 Series Carnaby 500 is a 3-band parametric equalizer for the 500 series format, with a unique and revolutionary concept of equalization, conceived and created by Cranborne Audio. Carnaby 500 is the world's first Harmonic EQ™, an analog equalizer that uses saturation to increase and decrease harmonic content on various frequency bands. This allows you to improve sources, stems and mixes with authentic analog harmonic saturation, offering the feel, familiarity and control of an equalizer. Carnaby 500 features 3 Harmonic EQ™ interactive bands, with each band equipped with 10 dB of boost/cut and overlapping and adjustable frequency controls. Each band in the Carnaby 500 has a unique blend of harmonic content adapted to its frequency band, so as to achieve maximum musicality. The HI band covers the range from 5kHz to 25kHz and uses a homogeneous saturation to naturally extend the high frequencies beyond the audio band, to give air and breath to voices and acoustic instruments. The LO band acts on the range from 20Hz to 420Hz and uses hard-clipping saturation to extend the subharmonic frequencies into the audible low range: perfect for a subtle boost of the low range or for extreme subarmonic saturation. The MID band is a peak filter with a fixed Q and a wide range of adjustable frequencies from 200 Hz to 6.2 kHz. Use saturation to add harmonic emphasis to the source at any point in the frequency range. Unlike other EQs, Carnaby 500 has a very dynamic response and increases the total boost/cut and harmonics as the circuits are saturated. An input and output level control on each band allows you to adjust the level by ±20dB, allowing you to drive the Carnaby 500 with greater intensity with the input control to obtain saturation and distortion effects, or to reduce it to obtain a cleaner equalization when necessary. The Carnaby 500 is not only equipped with a unique equalization circuit in the world, but also with an innovative stereo connection function called OPTOSYNC, which allows two Carnaby 500 units to work as a perfect stereo pair for mix and stereo sources. With OPTOSYNC, all controls are synchronized from left to right unit without internal cables or wiring. If you set OPTOSYNC to ON for all slave units, their controls synchronize with the master unit without additional cables. It is also possible to use OPTOSYNC to connect multiple units and apply the same sound imprint to entire summing mixers or to multi-channel surround mixes.
