The C.A.S.T. system replaces four balanced XLR cables with a single CAT 5.C.A.S.T (Cat 5 Analogue Signal Transport) cable uses the copper pairs inside the Cat5 cable to transmit 4 channels over distances of up to 100 meters. ExpanderConnect the N22H to the C.A.S.T. inputs of a 500R8 or a 500ADAT: the sources connected to the N22H will be sent directly to the interface to be recorded. The same C.A.S.T. connection will carry a stereo mix monitor generated by the 500R8/500ADAT to the headphone amplifier and the double 1/4” jack outputs, for zero latency analog listening. Standalone Cat5 Snake The use of the N22H and the N22 will replace bulky and expensive analog multicore, allowing the balanced audio signal to be transmitted between two locations. It is possible to connect the N22H with your audio interface and distribute the audio in a vocal booth, in a recording room or in a corridor to be temporarily soundproofed, using a single Cat 5 cable.
