Radial Engineering Q4

The Radial Q4 brings the purity of 100% discrete electronics to produce a truly Class A variable state filter design. The Q4 is a line-level equipment designed to interface with balanced pro audio recording systems. It is characterized by 4 EQ bands with shelving filters for fixed high and low frequencies at 100Hz and 10kHz, and 2 semi-parametric medium bands with a range between 300Hz and 2.4 kHz and between 1kHz and 12kHz respectively. Each mid-frequency band also has a choice between wide or narrow Q, to open the sweet spot or tighten it for surgical precision. All frequencies are set with a 12 dB boost or cut. The EQ can be bypassed to compare the effect before and after equalization.

The preference of using Class A circuits over Class AB or other designs is well documented. Like all other 500 Series Radial modules, the Q4 is made of aluminum to last over time and be protected from magnetic fields. Inside, the Q4 features a double-sided circuit board with 100% discrete components. These are hand-soldered for great signal flow. When mounted in a Workhorse rack, the Omniport connection acts as an input/output on a ¼” TRS connector that can interface with an insert point of a mixer using a simple TRS connector.
