Dual-valve microphone, single cardioid pattern - Very warm sound - 1.07" diaphragm The Gemini II model represents the most “ambitious” project of sE Electronics: the dual valve design guarantees authentic valve heat from the 12AX7 input valve, coupled to a 12AU7 valve in the output stage instead of the traditional transformer.
The result is a perfectly detailed sound that recalls the classic sound of “historic” tube microphones, but with all the features you can expect from the best “solid state” microphones currently on the market.
sE - Sound Engineering - is universally considered one of the 'top brands' in the studio microphone sector, with a well-established international reputation, suffice it to say that in its short history it has already become the number one brand in Great Britain and with the fastest increase in distribution in Europe.
Used by professionals such as Stevie Wonder and Courtney Pine, the sE transducers have established themselves in recent years for a perfect combination of quality and affordability of the microphones, as can easily be witnessed by the enthusiastic reviews published in the main international magazines in the sector, the many awards ('Mix Certified Hit' and Mia Music Awards in 2006 as 'Mic of the Year') and the great satisfaction with which an increasing number of professionals work with this brand.
The sE microphones are made with an artisanal production cycle, the capsules are entirely 'hand made' (!) and the extraordinary quality and obsessive attention to detail is evidenced by the fact that every single microphone before leaving the factory undergoes a specific test by the sound engineers of sE, not just by a simple machine. After all, if a person of the caliber of Rupert Neve decided to collaborate with sE Electronics for 2008 to create a new range of “Rupert Neve Signature” microphones, there must be a reason...
