The Custom 24 is the iconic electric guitar from PRS, the first model that Paul Reed Smith presented to the public in 1985. It features a Mahogany body with a Maple top. The patented PRS bridge combines an elegant design and stability in terms of tuning, while the Phase III mechanics with the new Wing key design combine a vintage design with a modern construction designed to increase the instrument's resonance. The 85/15 pickups provide a clear, defined sound, making the Custom 24 the perfect instrument for any modern application. Cobalt Smokeburst coloring
.PRS CUSTOM 24 COBALT SMOKEBURST OVERVIEW The Custom 24 is the quintessence
of PRS guitars. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith presented to the public at the first Winter NAMM of PRS Guitars in 1985, and since then it has always been a top seller. Played by both international artists and aspiring musicians, the Custom 24 features the patented PRS Gen III tremolo bridge and two 85/15 pickups with volume, tone and a 5-way selector. The 85/15 are pickups designed by Paul Reed Smith himself to offer noteworthy clarity and an extended frequency range
.The Custom 24 is the original PRS. Since its introduction to the market, it has offered unique sound characteristics and defined the timbre and playability of PRS
.In 2024, PRS Guitars updated the mechanics of many guitars in the core family. Aesthetically, the new Wing sticks recall the bird's wingspan design at the 12th fret, and were designed way back in 1982 for reasons related to sound. Being lighter than metal ones, they take less energy away from the vibrating strings, making the guitar more resonant and
increasing sustain.
