USB ADAT/SPDIF Card, 32 In/34 Out This compact, portable and lightweight sound card transports digital audio data in SPDIF and ADAT formats to Windows and Mac computers. The Plug and Play approach allows even novice users to install it easily. Its features, such as the robust RME drivers, allow you to operate with the Digiface USB quickly, comfortably and efficiently.
The Digiface USB is an interface with 4 optical ADAT/SPDIF I/Os and equipped with a high-quality 6.3 mm TRS Jack analog headphone output.
Following in the footsteps of the famous Digiface HDSP (PCI interface equipped with headphones and triple ADAT I/O), the Digiface USB connects more easily thanks to USB 2, which also allows you to power the interface without the need for an external drive. In addition, the addition of another optical I/O provides 32 input and output channels even when ADAT is used.
The analog output is dedicated to channels 33/34 and can be used freely thanks to TotalMix FX, the RME solution for routing and monitoring that knows no restrictions on the signal path. (The USB digiface has no effect)
Every single optical port supports both ADAT (up to 8 channels) and SPDIF (stereo). The inputs automatically adapt to the format of the signal they receive, the outputs can be switched individually for ADAT and SPDIF operations. The supported formats are SMUX and SMUX4. So, working at 192kHz, it is possible to use 8 I/Os in both SPDIF and ADAT formats.
Its small size and USB power supply make Digiface USB a useful and versatile interface. It can also be used as a simple headphone amplifier for mobile operations.
