Ultra-low noise linear audio power supply with the exclusive μFilter and Sensor technology Ultra-low noise linear audio power supply with μFilter and Sensor TechnologyThe new DPS-2 is an exceptional linear power supply that not only has impressive specifications, but also a series of unique and extremely useful features, such as the two outputs filtered differently. The housing and front panel of the DPS-2 are based on the ADI-2 series, to accommodate the innovative design of the RME circuits in a rack of half width. The Linear output is a traditional direct current output, but adopts a passive and active multi-stage filtering that includes a bank of 30,000 μF capacitors, a ferrite inductance and an active filter at the output with a hybrid voltage regulator. The second output is based on μFilter technology (RME patent). In this case, the pre-filtered Linear output signal is also processed by highly efficient active filters to obtain an exceptionally clean DC output with a noise of a few μV (microvolts). In addition, the output is equipped with sensor technology that measures and adapts the output voltage directly to the DC connector of the supplied DC cable. As a result, the output impedance and load regulation are extremely low and guarantee a clean output voltage of +12.0 V with a load of 2.5 A, completely avoiding load-dependent voltage drops. The additional use of a 2-stage RF filter and a DC filter on the AC network side, allows the DPS-2 to provide optimal performance without interference. This aspect is further enhanced by the 60 VA “audio grade” toroidal transformer with additional insulation wrap and magnetic tape shielding, which guarantees absolutely hum-free operation in all situations, while the Ground Lift switch can be used to disconnect the DC mass from the ground circuit, if necessary, to eliminate interference or hum. In this case, safety is not compromised, since the primary and the enclosure remain securely connected to the ground of the power supply network. In addition, the DPS-2 is equipped with a screw ground terminal for grounding other equipment or for using a different ground for audio supply. The DPS-2 has two status LEDs on the front panel to provide a quick overview of operating modes and possible malfunctions (power supply, thermal and power overload, undervoltage, short circuit, active output).
