Selected pair sE8 - With supports and wind screen - Vintage Edition Limited Series sE8 is a high-quality condenser microphone intended for a wide range of studio and live applications. Thanks to the custom 0.5” capsule (narrow diaphragm) assembled by hand and the transformerless output, sE8 offers crystal clear sound quality and a uniform and well-balanced frequency response, making this transducer perfect for many applications, from acoustic guitar to piano to drums. The carefully chosen electronics with very low noise components, together with the attenuation pad, allow the microphone to better withstand even high sound pressure levels (SPL) for a really high dynamic range. The two-position low cut filter helps eliminate unwanted noises such as footsteps and can also compensate for an excess of low frequencies caused by the proximity effect. In this way, sE8 also becomes excellent in close-range applications of acoustic instruments and other sources such as cabinets for electric guitar, brass and drums. The sturdy metal body and high construction standards make it reliable even “on the road”, on stages and in all conditions of use. SE8 has a double PAD switch for attenuation and a double low cut filter. The attenuation switch is located at the top on the back of the microphone body. Once activated, the input signal is attenuated by 10 or 20 dB so that you can shoot sources at high sound pressure or at a very close distance, without distortion. The use of the switch also reduces the possibility of saturating the input stages of audio interfaces, mixers and microphone preamplifiers. The Low-Cut Switch is placed on the front right of the microphone and inserts a high pass filter at 80Hz or 160Hz. In the central position, the filter is inactive, for a linear frequency response. The blowing of the wind, the plosive consonants, noises due to trampling can ruin the signal to be recorded: by activating the low cut filter, this type of disturbance is reduced and unwanted distortions are avoided.
