60-channel USB/FW Audio Interface - 192 kHz/24 bit Anniversary Edition The Fireface 802 FS AE is a highly integrated professional audio solution, ideal for both studio and live use, enclosed in a 19" rack unit. Designed for those looking for an uncompromising interface in terms of sound quality, stability, and ultra-low latency operability, and who want an unparalleled set of professional features. Once again, RME has set a new standard with an interface that includes the best of the best and also something more. 60 audio channels, high-quality microphone preamplifiers, reference class converters, a complete effects section and operation up to 192 kHz, are just the basis of many other features.Improve your recording setup with maximum flexibilityThe Fireface 802 FS AE offers ultra-low latency operation thanks to RME's USB 2 technology, combined with the legendary stability of the RME drivers. The SteadyClock FS technology for reducing jitter, TotalMix FX's latest Room EQ function, individually selectable reference levels for all inputs and outputs, full stand-alone functionality and identical operation on Windows PCs and Macs complete the package. Technically, the Fireface 802 FS AE is based on the proven Fireface 802 FS model, offering the same powerful features, including precise AD/DA conversion, flexible I/O options, and the same high audio quality enjoyed by professionals for over two decades. 20 Years of Fireface 800The Fireface 802 FS AE follows the RME tradition of providing flexible and expandable audio systems. On the front side there are four high-performance XLR/TRS combo inputs for microphones, instruments and line signals, as well as two stereo headphone jacks with an output level of +17 dBu, able to guarantee high volumes even with high impedance headphones. In the back you can discover the entire connectivity of the Fireface 802 FS AE: in addition to the MIDI and Word Clock I/Os, there are two ADAT optical I/Os, an AES/EBU I/O and eight balanced line-level analog inputs and outputs. With the new Multi-Mode mode, the two ADAT I/Os can be used as separate optical SPDIF inputs and outputs, in addition to the AES I/O. There is also a USB A port for directly connecting the optional USB ARC. Powerful applications for mixing, monitoring and measurement. The Fireface 802 FS AE includes the TotalMix FX DSP mixer, which offers comprehensive routing and monitoring options, as well as the DigiCheck Analyzer for accurately measuring and analyzing digital data in both directions. TotalMix FX can completely replace an external mixer, allowing the creation of multiple zero-latency monitor mixes with EQ, dynamics, reverb and delay on any output, including the main outputs and mixes for the musicians' headphones. The new Room EQ function optimizes the management of the existing 3-band parametric equalizer in TotalMix FX, adding a 9-band equalizer, volume calibration and the Crossfeed function, ideal for immersive and surround audio configurations. In addition, TotalMix Remote allows you to remotely control TotalMix FX on iPad and Windows/Mac computers, reflecting the current state of the host system, including mix, routing and FX settings, in real time. You can adjust all mixer settings and effects remotely via Ethernet or WiFi.Audio USB 2 Class CompliantThe Fireface 802 FS AE operates in two different modes: USB 2 with driver and Class Compliant mode. Class Compliant mode is a standard that is natively supported by operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. No proprietary drivers are needed, the device is recognized directly once the CC firmware is loaded. This mode can be activated through a button on the back of the interface. The Fireface 802 FS AE offers full USB 2.0 support in Class Compliant mode, making all channels available in driverless mode on Linux, Mac and iPadOS. An iPad Pro with a USB-C port can handle up to 60 channels for recording and playback in TotalMix FX for iPad and at the system level. DC-Coupled Outputs - CV/Gate voltage controlMost audio interfaces are traditionally designed with AC-coupled outputs, which use capacitors to filter very low frequencies. Although these frequencies are generally considered undesirable for audio, there is a case in which DC-coupling is preferable: in the world of modular synthesizers, where static or low frequency signals are used to control various parameters such as pitch or LFO. All Fireface 802 FS AE line outputs are fully DC-coupled, allowing control voltages (CV) or Gate signals to be sent to modular synthesizers (Eurorack, MOOG/MOTM formats and others) and other studio equipment. USB ARC Remote Control - Plug'n PlayThe optional ARC USB accessory connects to the computer via USB and integrates directly with TotalMix FX. It has 15 freely assignable and backlit keys, an encoder and a TS jack for connecting a pedal. The ARC USB is a MIDI remote control for the Fireface 802 FS AE and, being a UAC 1 device, it is natively compatible with Windows and Mac OS X. As soon as connected, TotalMix FX automatically detects the USB ARC and communicates with it through simple MIDI commands to control the Fireface 802 FS AEAnalogical AD, Line In 1-8, RearInput: 6.3 mm TRS, electronically balanced Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) @ LogAin: 116 dB (AES17), 118 dBA Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) SNR) @ +4 dBu: 115 dB (AES17), 117 dBA Frequency Response @ 44.1 kHz, -0.1 dB: 8.9 Hz — 20.4 kHz Frequency response @ 96 kHz, -0.5 dB: 4.3 Hz — 45.2 kHz frequency response @ 192 kHz, -1 dB: 3 Hz — 89 kHz THD @ -1 dBFS: < -120 dB, < 0.0001% THD+N @ -1 dBFS: < -110 dB, 110 dB Maximum input level: < 0.00032% Separazione dei canali: > +19 dBuMicrophone inputs 9-12, frontalInput: XLR, electronically balanced Input impedance: 3.4 kOhmS/N ratio (SNR) R): 113 dB unweighted RMS, 116 dBA Gain range: 54 dBMaximum input level, Gain +6 dB: +10 dBu Maximum input level, +60 dB gain: -44 dbuInstrument inputs 9-12, frontalInput: 6.3 mm TS, unbalancedInput impedance: 1 mOhmSignal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR): 113 dB unweighted RMS, 116 dbaMaximum input level, Gain +6 dB: +21 dBuFrequency Response @ 44.1 kHz, -0.5 dB: 2.5 Hz — 20.8 kHz Da, Stereo Monitor Output (Headphones 9-12) Output: 2 x 6.3 mm stereo TRS, unbalanced Maximum output level at 0 dBFS: dBU Maximum power per channel @ 32 Ohms, 0.02% THD: 200 mW Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR): 116 dB (AES17), 118 dBA Output Impedance: 2 Ohms MIDI I/O: 1 x MIDI I/O via 5-pin DIN jack Galvanic Isolation: Optopaired InputHigh-Speed Mode: Response time and jitter typically less than 1 ms Digital AES/EBU Input/Output1 x XLR, balanced transformer, galvanically isolated, compliant with AES3-1992Compatible with SPDIF (IEC 60958) Word Clock input/outputBNC connector, overvoltage protectionAutomatic speed detectionOutput impedance: 10 ohms Digital formats supported by ADAT optical: 2 x 8 24-bit channels, up to 48 kHzDouble Speed (S/MUX) mode: 2 x 4 channels a 96 kHz Quad Speed mode (S/MUX4): 2 x 2 channels at 192 kHz Additional connections to T2 x TOSLINK according to the ALESIS specificationSuppression of jitter: > 50 dB (> 1 Hz) Other featuresSteadyClock FS: Reduced jitter for high-quality AD/DA conversion, even when using an external clockAll specifications are subject to change without notice.
