With a wide gain range of 64 dB and an incredible dynamic range of 116.5 dB, the microphone preamps sound incredible, with all the detail and punch you expect from the world's leading mixing console manufacturer. The design uses a combination of carefully chosen low-noise discrete transistors together with IC to offer performance far beyond that usually associated with a portable bus-powered interface. The SSL 2+ MKII's ultra-low noise preamps are able to get the best out of any microphone. Both channels are equipped with independently activatable high-pass filters to eliminate background noise and, for condenser microphones, with an activatable +48V phantom power, so you can record with a variety of microphones at the same time. The XLR combo inputs found on the SSL 2+ MKII also function as line inputs, designed to capture keyboards, synths, samplers, drum machines, or external audio processors such as EQs and compressors.
