CR4 Electric Cello is the 4-string electric cello from NS Design's CR series, capable of producing the precise and delicate tones of an acoustic instrument, and of creating new sounds thanks to the innovative Polar™ piezo pickup system.

OVERVIEW

The three types of interchangeable supports allow new performances: a fully adjustable tripod (included) can be used for standing or seated playing, while the Boomerang™ Strap System and Frame Strap System (optional) allow maximum mobility. The classic pedestal (optional) instead allows you to adopt the classic cello position. The use of standard strings and scale provides the cellist with a point of contact between the classical and the electric world. The power of the CR4 electric cello can be tamed to obtain the sounds of a traditional instrument or freed up to explore new sound territories.

MAIN FEATURES OF THE CR4

Maple body and neck

The CR4 cello is made of European maple, with a flamed maple top. The solid body design ensures that the CR4 has a rich sound without the constraints of an acoustic instrument. Thanks to the use of the same scale as a traditional cello and the shape of the neck, you will have the feeling of having an acoustic instrument in your hands, while the compact body will allow you to access the high keys more easily. The brass reference at the back of the handle acts as a reference for the left hand, being in a position corresponding to the joint of the neck in an acoustic instrument. The solid construction allows the CR4 to have excellent structural stability and to withstand changes in temperature and humidity.

Keyboard

The keyboard is graduated, with an asymmetric profile to allow each note to be free from unwanted hums. The adjustable truss rod allows you to find the setting you prefer based on the strings you use and your style. The references along the keyboard ensure precise positioning during the performance.

Polar™ Pickup

The Polar™ piezo pickup mounted on the bridge responds selectively to the vertical vibration, typical of pinching, and horizontal vibration, obtained by playing with the headband.

Active electronics

The Dual Mode preamplifier allows you to choose between two types of sound. The first offers a full frequency response and a rich sound, typical of modern low-impedance electronics, while the second is balanced and provides an acoustic sound, similar to a traditional cello. In the central position, a full frequency range is obtained. A three-way switch allows you to select the desired mode. The volume, bass EQ and treble EQ controls allow you to adjust the sound precisely.
