GUILD ITALIA D-55E ATB ANTIQUE BURST NITRO

First introduced in 1968 as a top-of-the-line special order, the D-55E ATB was so popular that Guild introduced it into regular production as early as 1974. Famously used by Tommy Smothers on his shows in the 1960s, D-55 remained long-lived and popular, becoming a favorite of artists such as Waylon Jennings, Billie Joe Armstrong, and David Nail. Reintroduced in 2017, Guild D-55 is back improved and current. The D-55 remains faithful in its equipment to its 1968 ancestor, including a Sitka spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and Antique Sunburst glossy nitrocellulose finish. The interior finishes include an Adirondack chain as well as a revised and corrected dovetail neck attachment to make this generation of D-55 the lightest, most powerful and playable ever. The D-55 includes the most recognizable Guild headstock and features the Guild “Peak and Shield” in combination with an inlay on figured ebony. The ebony fingerboard is fully bound and equipped with the iconic “V-Blocks” inlay and multi-line “railroad track”., the scale is 651 mm and the nut is 43 mm wide. The D-55 keyboard is inserted on a mahogany neck with a beautiful walnut reinforcement that runs along the entire length to the headstock. The D-55's nitro finish is available in Antique Burst and is sprayed for minimum thickness and maximum resonance. Each guitar includes a signed certificate of authenticity, a Guild hardwood case with a Humicase® humidification system... The amplifier system is L.R. Baggs.
