The S2 Custom 24 is the 24-key electric guitar from the PRS S2 family, equipped with a Maple top and a Mahogany body. For 2024, the S2 Custom 24 is equipped with two American-made 85/15 humbuckers. Black Amber coloring.

OVERVIEW OF THE PRS S2 CUSTOM 24 BLACK AMBER

The S2 Custom 24 takes up the characteristics of the original PRS Custom 24, reinventing them to offer the essential with a new aesthetic. Maintaining the classic combination of Mahogany body and Maple top with Asymmetrical Bevel profile, this guitar has a resonant and powerful voice. Its versatility derives from the 85/15 pickups, for the first time in the US-produced S2 series, and from the 5-position selector that allows you to have all the sounds of the Custom 24.

S2 stands for “Stevensville 2", the name given to a second production line at the PRS factory in Stevensville, Maryland. This department was dedicated to the production of instruments revisited to reach a price range that was more accessible to musicians. Today, the S2 series is fully integrated into the same production departments in Maryland as the Core and Bolt-On series. What makes the S2 series guitars cheaper in terms of materials are the Maple boards used for the top, smaller in size and less figured than those selected for the Core series. Even the boards used for the handle are smaller: this is thanks to the Scarfed construction. This process, combined with the keyboards to which the radius is adjusted and the keys applied beforehand, is efficient and able to create durable and comfortable handles. The finishing process of S2 guitars is also more streamlined, and the electronics hidden in the pickguard make assembly faster. Finally, the included nylon soft case is cheaper than a hard one but protects the instrument perfectly. All this makes it possible to offer the guitars of the S2 line at a more affordable price
