Nutube integrated

Nutube is a new and revolutionary analog valve developed by KORG INC. in collaboration with Noritake Itron Corporation. Like conventional valves, Nutube is built with an anode, grid, and cathode and operates exactly like a complete triode tube, effectively generating the same response and characteristic harmonic richness. All this with a considerably smaller footprint and with greater energy efficiency. The transparent body of the HA-S reveals this technology, allowing you to always keep an eye on the splendour of the valve.

Energy Efficiency

The Nutube filament is powered by a DC to DC converter, which consumes less current, to allow longer battery life than all other tube amplifiers. The design focused on energy efficiency, managing to ensure that the HA-S can power the Nutube with a line voltage of 26 V using only two A4 batteries to reproduce the typical tube sound

Sound possibilities

The Korg NU:TEKT HA-S has an NFB (Negative Feedback) switch to select the type of character to provide the amplified sound: from clean and crystalline with high fidelity to the warmest and richest harmonics as expected from a tube amp. When the NFB switch is in the OFF position, the harmonics conveyed in the Nutube (triode) will be amplified to create a warm and lively sound rich in harmonics. When, on the other hand, said switch is in the ON position, the distortion ratio and the characteristic frequencies will be modified to create a detailed and clean sound

For further interventions on sound, we have included two operational amplifiers (OP amps) on the output stage: the high-quality audio oriented “MUSES01" and the industry standard “NJM4580”, both produced by JRC. These are easily replaceable, so purists and audiophiles can adapt the sound of their HA-S to their needs

For advanced users who want to further customize this amplifier, we had the foresight to make the circuit diagram readable, thus making it extremely easy to replace discrete components to offer them the possibility of building a headphone amplifier that meets their sound and performance needs. The possibilities are endless!
