Nearfield 2-way monitor with 6.5” woofer - 90W + 90W The performance of the Genelec 8040B system, compact bi-amplified monitors, is similar to higher-end systems. Ideal in all those cases where a wide frequency response is necessary even in small spaces. The most common uses for this product are as a nearfield in project/home studio, workstation, control room, broadcast, TV and mobile media. The ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) function reduces the system's electrical consumption to less than 0.5 watts by automatically putting the monitor on standby when no signal is detected on the inputs for a certain period of time. As soon as an input audio signal is detected, the system is instantly turned back on. This ISS function is compatible with the new EU standards and the ErP Directive 2013, which regulates the consumption of electronic equipment. The reflex duct has been designed to provide clear and defined bass, without distortion, compression or disturbance. The combination of the waveguide control, Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide™ (DCW™), the rounded corners and the subtle curvature of both the front and the cabinet, MDE™ (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure™), results in a surprisingly flat frequency response both on and off axis. Another great advantage is extremely precise and detailed imaging and minimal listening fatigue. A sophisticated crossover filter system treats the signal that is sent to the amplifiers: every very low distortion speaker has one dedicated. 8040B is equipped as standard with magnetic shielding, overload protection circuit and a versatile environmental correction system. The holes on the back allow correct and safe wall mounting. Every 8040B is equipped with Iso-Pod™ (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler™), a support capable of eliminating any sound colors by decoupling the monitor from the surface on which it is placed. Iso-Pod™ also allows you to angle the monitor in order to point it perfectly in axis towards the listener. For ideal positioning in any type of environment, Genelec 8040B includes rear support points for floor or wall supports, as well as an M10 hole on the base.
