This text introduces the violin technique and illustrates some fundamental concepts of reading musical notation. The emphasis is placed on the use of classical melodies and tracks, to introduce each new concept. The 28 lessons include basic technique and musical reading skills, scales in the major keys of A, D, G and C, and some particular techniques such as dynamic contrasts, ligatures, accents and detached notes. 47 melodies are presented that include works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Haendel, Mozart and other classical composers. A CD recording of the book is available. It presents all the exercises and tracks recorded with violin solo and piano accompaniment. It is useful as a teaching and practice tool, but also as an accompanying track for performance.
