Simplifying complexity. The simplicity of the operation hides the complexity of what happens inside the unit during each test. Inside there is a sophisticated test system controlled by a microprocessor that performs a series of complex switching and measurement exercises between the electrodes. Without the need for knowledge of valve theory, the user simply inserts a valve into the correct base, selects the valve type from the list and presses the OK button. The status of the valve under test is quickly revealed.

Portable and practical. The Orange Valve Tester MKII is a sophisticated, easy-to-use unit designed to meet the needs of both experienced audiophiles and beginners in valve testing. New and improved. The new Valve Tester significantly improves its algorithms and has an updated database that includes the test results of hundreds of new, used and faulty valves. This makes the MKII much smarter than the original model, the VT1000. All the voltages necessary for the tests are generated internally in a stable and controlled manner, allowing rapid static and dynamic tests to be carried out without generating unnecessary heat.

In addition, the new version of the device has a higher current capacity and offers new advanced functions such as leak detection, “thermal runaway” tests and a digital microphone function for the preamplifier tubes. The robust mechanical design also includes improvements in the valve connectors.

Expansion Modules Available. The new optional expansion modules for the Valve Tester MKII are particularly interesting for Hi-Fi enthusiasts. They allow the control of direct heating valves such as the 300B and other types of valves such as EF86, EZ80, 6SN7 and the GZ34 rectifier.
