Focal Sub One is an amplified subwoofer for the recording studio with a power of 200W RMS (2x100W in class D), with a frequency range from 32Hz to 120Hz, which uses 2 woofers with 8-inch (20cm) Slatefiber cones with a long excursion designed and produced in France by Focal itself.

Sub One guarantees an excellent dynamic response without introducing distortions on the signal, for a natural and faithful reproduction of low frequencies. Designed to integrate perfectly into any environment, thanks to its small width and the large openings of the reflex placed in the front panel, Focal Sub One can be placed near the walls or under your desk in the control room. The cones, with their particular color tending to blue, are made with Slatefiber technology and produced exclusively by the French company in the Saint-Étienne factory using recycled carbon fiber combined with thermoplastic

Focal Sub One is an excellent complement to your monitoring system based on series speakers Alpha EVO (click here) or Shape (click here), but not only that: produce, compose and mix your music by listening properly to the low frequencies without losing any detail. The sturdy cabinet was built using 2.2 cm MDF panels assembled with reinforcing arms. There are numerous adjustments and connections accessible in the rear control panel: from the high pass adjustable to 60Hz or 90Hz to the low pass crossover (24dB/octave) with potentiometer for setting the cut-off point, from volume to polarity reversal, including a rotary potentiometer to intervene on the phase adjustment. There is also a switch to activate/deactivate the “Auto Stand-By” energy saving function

The connections available in the Focal Sub One include balanced Left, Right and LFE audio inputs (XLR female) and outputs (XLR female), “2.1 Bypass” input on ¼” TS jack for footswitch pedals with relative output for mute function applicable to any other subwoofers in the listening system.
