8-channel Hi-end Microphone Preamp, 24/192 A/D conversion — 2 ADAT out (up to 96kHz) 4 AES/OUT (up to 192kHz), 12 Analog stereo Out, MADI, remote control via USB and MIDI The Octamic XTC is the Swiss Army knife among all RME interfaces! It is equipped with 8 preamplifiers for microphones, line signals and instruments with AD conversion up to 192kHz/24bit and AutoSet function; 4-channel DA converter for analog or digital monitoring; completely remotable via MIDI via USB, DIN and MADI port. The ADAT, AES and optical MADI ports work both as outputs and as inputs, easily configurable and addressable from the front panel equipped with a TFT display. All this makes the OctaMic XTC a complete and reliable digital signal converter. All settings are saved and recalled on presets inside the machine. OctaMic XTC integrates eight MIC/LINE inputs, 4 switchable in Hi-Z, with a variety of digital formats never seen in a device in this category: from the most common ADAT and AES/EBU formats to the sophisticated 64-channel optical MADI.

Analog signals are converted by the latest RME conversion technology. While respecting the excellent sound and frequency response that have made the RME brand famous in the world, this preamp manages to guarantee imperceptible latency times and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. Thanks to the practical TFT color display, easily accessible configuration options reveal another unique feature: all analog and digital inputs, including up to 64 MADI channels and 8 AES/EBU audio channels, can be freely associated with any output - including the 24 channels of the Class Compliant USB 2.0 audio interface format.

If connected via MIDI (DIN, MIDI over MADI, or USB) to an RME audio interface running the TotalMix FX, Octamic XTC can be remotely controlled directly via TotalMix. The perfect combination is the Fireface UFX pairing with XTC. The new OctaMic connected via ADAT to the UFX is able to add 8 analog inputs and 4 analog outputs to the top-of-the-range RME interface.
With 24 I/O channels in Class Compliant mode, the OctaMic XTC is currently also the most flexible and advanced interface able to work with iPad (with Apple Camera Connection Kit).
