system.The compact design features two fiberglass reinforced nylon XLRs at each end, with heavy, oxidation-proof nickel-silver contacts, in the space of just 10cm x 4cm. Unlike other plastic insulators, IceCube is made of sturdy powder-coated 16-gauge steel. The steel outer shell is not only more durable, but it provides excellent protection against electromagnetic fields radiated by electrical cables, dimmers, motors and power supplies - with ever quieter results when active. This feature is emphasized by a 'set & forget' ground lift switch that eliminates hums and rustles caused
by ground loops.Inside IceCube, a unique Eclipse transformer isolates the input from the output and blocks stray continuous currents. While small transformers rarely perform well below 100 Hz, IceCube is exceptionally linear from 20Hz to 18kHz. It is also capable of withstanding up to +10dB at 20Hz with less than 0.01% distortion.
