Twin-Finity 710 microphone and tube line/fet preamplifier: unique preamplifier of its kind
With this pre/DI mic, sounds that vary between tube and solid state
The 710 Twin-Finity™ is a classy Universal Audio preamplifier that combines both the classic warm and retro sound given by the tube circuitry, and the accurate solid-state response to transients, all in a 19" tall 2U half-rack chassis. The 710 was designed to provide maximum sonic versatility, adding that inspiring touch that is often missing in audio interface preamps. The mix between the two signal paths varies between 100% tube and 100% solid-state, allowing infinite tonal combinations and the ability to easily find your own distinctive sound. There are many cheap preamps available, but the 710 Twin-Finity is the only one that can offer the best of both worlds in a single product within the reach of any serious project studio. Includes the kit for rack mounting one or two units.
Now you can:
Take advantage of the different sound properties of tubes and solid state in a single preamp/DI
Mix the sounds of the tube circuit with the solid state circuit for maximum flexibility
Unleash the full potential of your microphone park with an extremely versatile preamp Easily
record guitar, bass or keyboards with the Hi-Z 1/4” instrument input on the front panel A microphone preamplifier with great flexibility At the base of great flexibility
The sound of the 4-710d is its innovative design, characterized by a transimpedance solid state input amplifier that simultaneously powers two different gain stages, aligned in phase, one tube and one solid state, added together on a single output. The mix between the valve stage (with a single-ended triode operating at 310 volts in class A) and the transimpedance solid state stage is controlled by the potentiometer indicated with the symbol “∞”. This control is continuously variable between 100% Tube and 100% Solid State values, offering a practically infinite range of unique sounds and the possibility of easily finding your own personal sound.
Drive all tastes
Like all UA preamplifiers, the 710 is equipped with dual gain (gain/level) controls that can radically vary the amount of coloring and distortion, allowing you to increase the input gain (use to do with a guitar amplifier). The VU meter has an exclusive 'Drive' mode that allows you to see the amount of saturation of the input stage.
Versatility and sound
The 710 Twin-Finity was created in particular to add that tonal versatility and sound inspiration that is often lacking in common audio interface preamplifiers. The key to its tonal flexibility lies in the innovative circuit design, with a transistor input amplifier with variable impedance that sends separately a phase-aligned signal to the tube and transistor gain circuits. The two signals are then added together on a single output. The mix between tube stage and transistor stage is controlled by the Blend Knob potentiometer.
710 Twin-Finity: loved by bassists and guitarists
Thanks to the discrete JFET DI input circuit, it is possible to manage any electrified instrument (electric guitars and basses, keyboards, etc.). Especially guitarists and bassists will appreciate the 710 Twin-Finity's ability to bring out the best possible sound from both active and passive pickups. The 710 Twin-Finity is designed and built at Universal Audio facilities in California and comes with a 19" rack adapter for mounting one or two units.
