11102-45-GC The Pearly Gates passive humbucker pickups with vintage output pack tons of focused midrange attitude with the punch and sizzle of raw Texas. Our “country fried” Pearly Gates humbucker pickups transform any Les Paul-style guitar into an outlaw rock classic. The Pearly Gates neck captures all the mojo of the original neck pickup from Billy Gibbons's 1959 Les Paul. It's a P.A.F. with a unique tonal variation that provides more midrange than typical humbuckers of the time. The result is a neck pickup that cuts with stronger custom-made mids, but still has the open, airy treble attack of the 2 bar alnico magnet. Combined with a warm, spongy low end, this pickup is great for both rhythm and lead. Seymour found that Billy's bridge pickup had slightly more output than most P.A.F. The 2-bar alnico magnet keeps the high-end audio airy but focused, and the mid-range emphasis gives it a sizzle unique in Texas. It really has a growl all its own and will help bring any instrument equipped with a humbucker to life. Hand-built in our Santa Barbara, California factory, Pearly Gates vintage outlet humbucker pickups use a 2 bar alnico magnet, nickel-plated silver bottom plate, 4-conductor conductor wire for multiple wiring options, and are vacuum-waxed for squeak-free performance. The Pearly Gates bridge is available with standard humbucker and Trembucker spacing. As with all of our P.A.F. style humbuckers, each Pearly Gates is wrapped on Seymour's original Leesona wrapping machine from Gibson's first factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan, for that unmistakable vintage mojo.
