11202-05-RWRP-L The ultimate medium power overwound Stratocaster pickup, this is the single coil in the bridge position of the David Gilmour Signature Fender Stratocaster. David Gilmour needed a sound full of energy for his famous Black Strat, so Seymour wrapped what became the staggered medium-power Stratocaster Custom pickup. It has been and continues to be an honor to work with such a legend. The Custom Staggered is a special overwound single coil that creates an excellent balance between increased power and classic Stratocaster tonal character. It will provide bigger, fatter chords and cut the mix more clearly than a traditional Strat pickup, while maintaining the magic and mojo that make a Strat sound like a Strat. The single notes are bold and strong, and the solos really sing. Use in the bridge position with a pair of Vintage pickups offset around the neck and center for the Gilmour approved configuration. Use a custom RWRP offset in the center for a quiet configuration in positions 2 and 4. The custom staggered Strat pickup is also available in a 7-string version. The coils are constructed with hand-ground, lacquered and wound Alnico 5 rod magnets, and are waxed for squeak-free performance. We use modern Forbon oval forks (not triangular) that allow this pickup to fit any guitar routed for single coils.
