DOEPFER A-124 WASP FILTER

DOEPFER A-124 WASP FILTER MODULAR SYSTEM is a special 12 dB multimode filter that uses the 'strange' filter circuit of the 'EDP Wasp' (an analog synthesizer with black/yellow housing produced by the British company 'Electronic Dream Plant' in the late seventies). In this way, digital inverters would be “misused” as analog operational amplifiers, leading to distortions and other “dirty” effects that generate the specific sound of this filter. The filter has a bandpass output and a combined low-pass/notch/high-pass output. For this output, a control knob controls the relationship between the low pass signal and the high pass signal. If both signals appear at the same level (i.e. the center position of the mix knob), a notch filter is obtained. Otherwise, the low pass or high pass signal predominates
