SSL SiX CH (SiX Channel strip)
SSL SiX Channel is a 500 series mini channel strip that uses the Superanalogue channel processing capabilities of the SSL Six console, including the preamp, the EQ and the single-control compressor. The SiX Channel represents an easy way to add a Mic/Line input to the line inputs of any professional audio device, including the Stereo channels of the SiX console. It's also a flexible possibility to create a professional modular mixer with a 500 series rack “adder”.
SuperAnalogue pre-amp input
A wide gain range and a SuperAnalogue design with very low background noise allow you to work with a wide range of audio sources. The nominal line input impedance is 10 kΩ. This can be raised to 1 MΩ using the Hi-Z switch. The 1 MΩ impedance makes this input suitable for any high impedance source such as passive guitar pickups without the need for an external DI Box.
Other features High-Pass 12dB/Oct
filter, 75Hz
Polarity Switch (ø) that reverses the polarity of the rear XLR Mic input.
A five-segment LED meter shows the output level in dBu
EQ.
The EQ adopts a very musical design, with a very wide intervention band, with high and low shelving filters at 3.5 kHz and 60 Hz, adjustable with gain to +/- 15 dB. Each band can be independently switched from shelving to bell. The bell curves change the center of the frequency on which to operate at 5 kHz and 200 Hz, giving great versatility to the two
COMP controls.
A “one knob” compressor with features that offer powerful and versatile performance, despite simple controls. A three-segment LED meter indicates the amount of gain reduction applied. The circuit has an automatic make-up gain, to keep the signal level constant regardless of the threshold values.
