XOne:PX5 DJ Performance Mixer

Allen & Heath XOne:PX5 is the result of the combination of the identifying analog sound of the XONE series with digital connectivity, two essential elements nowadays to provide the DJ with a professional instrument suitable for modern performances. The integrated USB2 audio interface is Traktor Scratch certified.

The XONE:FX DSP effects processor integrated in the PX5 has been programmed specifically for DJ sets and puts at your fingertips a selection of algorithms such as delays, reverbs, flangers, distortions and various modulation effects called the Xone:Xcite FX suite. The Xone:PX5 is a 5-channel mixer. The 4 main input channels, all equipped with a three-stage Phono/USB/Line switch, are equipped with 60mm VCA faders and 12-segment LED meters; the additional channel, called “A”, is instead Mic/AUX/USB switchable and has an LED peak indicator and a stereo line input on ¼” jack connectors capable of also accommodating synthesizers or monaural drum machines (L/M connector). All five channels are equipped with gain, 3-band equalizer (with total kill) and can be assigned to the pre-listening (CUE), the filter and one of the sides of the crossfader (x-fader) using the appropriate selectors

The XONE:PX5 mixer crossfader is configurable in three different cutting modes, to adapt to the needs of your performance, can be replaced quickly by the user without voiding the warranty and is compatible with the optional Innofader Pro 2 (NOT included). On each channel there is a dedicated potentiometer (Send) for sending the signal to external effects processors and/or the integrated Xone:FX effects processor. Extremely versatile is the connectivity dedicated to external signal processors, which includes the presence of SEND and RETURN stereo connections, possibly configurable in Hi-Z mode for use with old vintage effects or guitar pedals, and of INSERT stereo on the Master. Each channel, in addition to the “Send” potentiometer, is equipped with a 3-stage switch that can be set to Internal, DUAL, or External for selecting the effect processor to be used: from the integrated XONE:FX to the external one connected to Send/Return, or a combination of both (DUAL) that sees the return signal of the first pass through the second to create more complex and particular combinations of

The XONE VCF filter is a must-have, a multimode analog filter (low pass, band pass, high pass) with cutoff and resonance controls, which can be assigned to each individual channel and on the return of any external effects processor. Thanks to the integrated USB 2.0 sound card, with 24bit/96kHz A/D-D/A converters, we can add 10 inputs and as many outputs (5 in/5 stereo out) to our PC or Mac computer (class compliant); this will allow us to use the mixer in a hybrid way, combining traditional equipment such as turntables and CD or MP3 players with mixing software such as Traktor or Virtual DJ configured in “external mixer” mode, or software designed for live performances such as Ableton

The XOne:px5 is a Traktor Scratch Certified mixer (version 2.11 and later). You can use Traktor Scratch Control Vinyl timecode vinyls to physically control the tracks loaded into the software decks and the configuration of the audio inputs and outputs will be automatic. The X:LINK connection, a native protocol developed by Allen & Heath herself, will allow us to connect the XONE “K” series MIDI controllers directly to the PX5, which, in addition to being powered by this bus, will transmit the generated MIDI messages to our computer without occupying an additional USB port. The exclusive strength of the PX5 is the Xone:Sync MIDI Clock Engine, a system for calculating, generating and controlling the MIDI Clock message that can be transmitted via USB and through the traditional MIDI Sync/out DIN connector. We can interact on the MIDI Clock message generated with the play, stop, pause buttons, with the TAP Tempo for manual setting, or with the synchronization of the message based on the automatic calculation of the speed in BPM, as well as intervening to compensate for any fluctuations in the MIDI Clock signal through the bend

The XONE:PX5 is also enabled to receive the MIDI Clock message via USB. This extensive management of the MIDI Clock signal together with the Line input on channel “A” capable of accommodating even mono sources (L/M connector) make the XONE:PX5 a perfect ally for all DJs who use
