The MIA IV SA (Semiacoustics) represents the return of a very successful Eko guitar. A hollow body inspired by the historic Eko Barracuda, but in a slightly lightened version: the thinner the profile, the more “stylish” the
shape.A Semiacoustic in solid wood, made light by the choice of Paulonia; the top is in solid maple while the handle is in mahogany. The keyboard is in South American Roupanà (Parinari Campestris), a wood that Eko Guitars chose to replace Rosewood, after its inclusion among the protected species
.The MIA IV SA headstock allows the strings to have a perfectly linear trajectory from the mechanics to the bridge, eliminating friction points on the nut typical of semiacoustics and allowing for an instrument that remains more in tune and with excellent sustain characteristics.
The “vintage” style of the pickups hides two decidedly powerful and balanced humbuckers (in Alnico 5) that find in a push-push potentiometer the possibility of splitting, increasing the versatility of this instrument.
