TBM1 Tom Morello Power 50 Overdrive is Tom Morello's signature overdrive pedal from MXR by Dunlop. For more than 30 years, the heart of Tom's sound has been his amplifier, and the MXR Power 50 allows everyone to have that sound on the pedalboard.

OVERVIEW

The Power 50 Overdrive emulates the sound that Tom Morello has been using since 1988 and with which he has recorded 21 albums. The Power 50 Overdrive circuit uses MOSFET technology to recreate the sound of Tom Morello's amplifier preamp and has the same controls: Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Volume and Presence. In addition, Tom connects all his effects into the FX loop of his amplifier and this pedal allows you to replicate this feature thanks to its integrated effects loop.

If you have a Cry Baby Tom Morello Wah, you can insert it into the effects loop to get its aggressive wah sounds. Placing the Cry Baby Wah in the chain before the Power 50 Overdrive achieves a more subtle sound, while placing it later provides a sound with pronounced highs. The FX loop is also perfect for live use: keeping the Power 50 Overdrive always on to use it as a basic sound and placing all the effects in the pedal loop, you don't have to worry about adjusting all the levels, but just act on the Power 50 controls.

POWER

This pedal can be powered with a 9-volt battery, a 9-volt AC power supply such as the Dunlop ECB003/ECB003EU, or an MXR Brick series power supply.

Presence

CONTROLS
