ARCHON 50W HEAD OVERVIEW

The Archon 50W, which in Greek means' sovereign 'or' lord ', is a two-channel amplifier that stands out for its versatile overdrives and for its clean, brilliant, with high headroom. Designed with five gain stages before master volume, Archon's main channel has been designed to cover all genres, from classic rock to metal, with full and rich distortion. The clean channel offers sounds that maintain clarity even at high volumes, while the large headroom creates an excellent platform for pedals. The Archon has an extraordinarily responsive tone and the notes always sound very distinct, both on the clean and on the distorted channel

The PRS Archon 50W Head is powered by two 6L6 valves that offer a full and articulated tone, with soft highs and tight lows. The valves are able to distort without oversaturating, managing to never be harsh. The Archon's control layout allows you to model the sound in a detailed and intuitive way. Each channel is equipped with Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass and a Master Volume controls, as well as a Bright switch. The volume and master controls work together to manage distortion and amplifier volume. The Bright switch acts as a treble boost, making them brighter without making them too sour. The global Presence and Depth controls in the final section act on highs and lows: raising the Presence control frees up more medium and high frequencies, bringing forward the sound of the amplifier. Depending on the EQ and volume settings, the Presence can change the gain and volume of the high frequencies, making the tone wilder and more present. In addition to adding bass, the Depth control adds a resonance to these frequencies that shapes the sound in a more three-dimensional way
