MIX 2:1 is a simple but very useful mixer that passively adds two audio channels into one. This allows you to easily sum the stereo outputs of a console, recording interface, or portable playback device into mono, or to mix two signals together and balance their input levels
. TheMIX 2:1 inputs have ¼” XLR and TRS connectors, with Ground-lift (grounded) switches that eliminate the noise and hum of ground loops, ensuring noise-free operation. You can activate and deactivate each input individually, to listen to the signals before adding them up. There is a Trim control for each input: by connecting two separate mono sources such as the outputs of two microphone preamplifiers, it is possible to attenuate them as needed by combining their levels with the output. Both level controls can be completely bypassed, adding inputs 1 and 2 with the same adjustments, and preventing accidental or unwanted changes to the level. MIX 2:1 has a 180° switch on the Input-2, to solve frequency cancellation problems due to out-of-phase inputs. Both signals are added passively, then a single XLR output is sent that can be connected to an active speaker, or to the input of a console or a recording interface
.MIX 2:1 is made of sturdy 14-gauge steel, and features the classic I-beam structure that avoids stress on the printed circuit board, preserving it from solder failures, in addition to the book-like design that protects level controls and switches. A printed circuit board with military specifications and high-quality components help to maintain the integrity of the audio quality, without distortion or phase shift, for completely transparent passively summed signals
.
