'The Guild Starfire have defined the design of semi-hollow body electric guitars since their appearance on the music scene in the early sixties. Maintaining this heritage and the airy, crisp sound you'd expect from these collectible instruments, the Starfire I DC (double-cut) California Burst offers a modern construction with a classic feel and vintage tones.

With elegantly arched mahogany top, back and sides and a mahogany center block to reduce feedback and ensure clear sustain, the Starfire I woods are versatile in all musical genres, from clean, edgy tones to overdrive tones. The sound is easy and smooth thanks to the comfortable 24 3/4" scale length and the modern, slim “U” neck profile, while the 18-key neck-body articulation allows easy access to the keyboard's upper register. The Guild Vintage 18 tuners with 18:1 transmission ratio and the Tune-o-matic bridge ensure stable tuning, while the use of the Guild Vibrato tailpiece allows for bends and greater musical versatility.

The Starfire I features Guild HB-2 Alnico humbuckers at the neck and bridge, with push-pull splitting coils to allow melodic tones and single coils from both pickups. The California Burst finish completes the mahogany body with the classic line of handle and headstock, in the classic Guild style of the 60s.
