SuperAnalogue Series Mixer 40 Inputs - 16 SSL XL-Desk Empty Slots: a modern reinterpretation of the classic analog studio console. XL-Desk is the modern reinterpretation of the classic analog studio console. Designed for the most modern recording studios based on DAW, but aimed at engineers who do not need or do not want direct control over the computer, it does not have analog automation functions, as on the other SSL products that have now become standard for integration between software and hardware in the modern hybrid studio.XL-Desk Channel Strip and RoutingXL-Desk is in many ways a traditional analog console 24 out of 8 but contains an extraordinary set of functions. 20 channel strips: 16 mono with dual inputs (switchable between main input or DAW return) and 4 stereo channels. The first eight channels each have a VHD preamplifier. In the upper part there is an 18-slot 500 series rack that can be configured at will with any standard 500 module available on the market, from processors, to preamplifiers to EQs. XL-Desk comes standard with the legendary SSL Bus Compressor Stereo in slots 17 and 18 (wired directly to Mix A). The rack has its own power supply with very high level electrical specifications (and a much greater power than any 500 series power supply on the market!). Four main mixing buses (A, B, C, D) with B, C and D that can be assigned directly to Mix A. Both the output buses and the individual channels can access the 500 series rack and have an additional separate insert point for further processing via external outboard. Two mono AUX sends and two stereo return inputs; Direct out on each channel, stereo returns and advanced routing between the various buses, make it convenient and easy to record individual stems, in addition to the classic Mixdown. Each channel has a Stereo Bus Cue section (with Pan and Volume) used to provide, for example, separate stereo listening for musicians on headphones. During the mixdown phase, the signals coming from the DAW (DAW return) present on the mono channels can be directed to the CUE ST bus and then added to Mix A, until obtaining a mixing console with 16 main faders + 16 Cue ST inputs + 4 stereo channels: that is, in effect, it becomes an adder with 40 channels (using stereo returns and inserting the Sum function you can reach 50 channels in sum). The Control Room section includes 3 pairs of monitors + Subwoofer with independently assignable Bass Management, headphone output, Foldback A and B with 2 individual talkbacks for headphone mixes and a Listen Mic input with the “legendary” compression circuit, with its direct output.
